Co-hosted by the Beijing Olympic City Development Center and Beijing Wuzi University, the “Spirit of Beijing 2022” themed exhibition opened at Beijing Wuzi University on 31 October 2025. The exhibition is part of the Dual Olympic Culture Promotion Series of the 16th Beijing Olympic City Sports Culture Festival.

In his opening remarks, Zhang Yi, Deputy Party Secretary of Beijing Wuzi University, stated that the spirit of Beijing 2022 is not only a compliment to the participants in the Winter Olympics but also a beacon for the growth and development of Chinese youths in the new era. Beijing Wuzi University is located on the banks of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal. The “golden waterway” connecting the northern and southern parts of China not only embodies the civilization of the Chinese nation but also serves as a “flowing textbook” about moral and political education. The university will integrate the spirit of Beijing 2022 with moral and political education embodied in the Grand Canal, and leverage the enormous power of the Olympic legacy and the flowing cultural heritage of the Grand Canal to nurture student development. He hoped that the students could draw strength for “uprightness and goodness” from the spirit of Beijing 2022, and have a deep concern for the people and the country as manifested in the spirit of the Grand Canal. With youthful vigour and dedication, the students are encouraged to continuously sharpen their professional skills and comprehensive abilities, keep abreast of the times, and ensure that their development aligns with and resonates with the great motherland, thereby contributing to building China into a modern socialist country in all respects and advancing national rejuvenation on all fronts.

Wang Cheng, Head of the Communications Department of the Beijing Olympic City Development Center, said that holding the “Spirit of Beijing 2022” themed exhibition on campus is an important measure to implement President Xi Jinping’s instructions on making the most of the legacy of the Games. It is also an integral part of the campaign of the 16th Beijing Olympic City Sports Culture Festival, bringing the Olympic culture to government agencies, campuses, communities and villages. The exhibition aims to help universities implement the Party’s education policy and fulfil the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talent. By showcasing the valuable images from the bidding for the Beijing 2022 Games to the preparation for and staging of the Games, the exhibition allows teachers and students to resonate with the spirit of Beijing 2022, that is, to bear in mind the big picture, be confident and open, rise to challenges, pursue excellence, and create a better future together. It inspires students to maintain firm ideals and convictions, hone their professional skills and serve the country, thereby integrating their passionate, youthful dreams into the Chinese Dream.
