On the evening of 4 February, the first anniversary of the grand opening of the 2022 Olympic Winter Games, Shougang Ice Hockey Arena in Beijing was transported back to the Games-time as a grand ceremony was staged here to kick off the series of activities to celebrate the first anniversary of the Games. IOC President Bach delivered a video message, and Mr.Yin Yong, mayor of Beijing, delivered a speech on behalf of the host city.

The theme of the anniversary celebration of the Beijing 2022 Games is “Re-walk the Road to the Extraordinary Beijing 2022 Games * Together for a Shared Future”.

The ceremony was divided into three segments: Reigniting the Flame of Ice and Snow, Carrying forward the Spirit of the Beijing 2022 Games, and Together for a Shared Future. A mix of ceremonial moment, screening of short videos, staging of wonderful art performances and interviews, the event vividly showed the post-Games use of the Games legacy, embodied the spirit of the Beijing 2022 Games, and rallied the whole city, after successfully hosting both the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, towards a brighter tomorrow. At the launch ceremony, the new logo of the Beijing Olympic Museum was officially released.

The anniversary celebration activities are organised by the Beijing Olympic City Development Association (BODA) and jointly undertaken by Beijing Olympic City Development Centre, Beijing municipal sport administration and disabled persons’ federation and their Hebei provincial counterparts. They are scheduled from February to March, 2023, and will take place simultaneously in the three competition zones of the Games in Beijing, Yanqing and Zhangjiakou.

The anniversary celebration consists of eight parts:
