Russia May Prohibit Migrant Workers from Serving in Olympic Winter Games in Sochi

Moscow, July 11 (Labor Report) - Sergei Lisovsky, a member of the Russia’s Federation Council, has proposed a law that will prohibit foreign nationals from working at large-scale international events in Russia.


It is said that a Greek company will use their own staff during the Sochi Winter Olympics. Thus, Sergei Lisovsky proposed the bill to prohibit migrant workers from serving in Olympic Winter Games in Sochi except for the foreign performers and directors.


Sergei Lisovsky said that when foreign companies brought their domestic labor to make money in the large-scale events, the labor in would not be placed; he believed that it was a performance of the unpatriotic, and it was also bad for the country's economic development.
